Year after year, there are more threats in the world and more data leaks. Cybersecurity plays an important role in protecting computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks and data from malicious attacks. In this regard, the opening of the Cybersecurity Center took place at the Ala-Too International University.

On February 28, 2023, the opening of the Cybersecurity Center, initiated by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and International and Business Law, took place at the AIU. The event was attended by interested experts from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, embassies, banking institutions and private organizations. Ruslan Amanov, coordinator of the Cybersecurity Center shared its goals and mission:

“The mission of the Center is to teach students the theory and practice of cyber hygiene and conduct research. We plan to attract international experts in order to develop this area. We are always open to suggestions and exchanges of experience. We hope that our partners will hear a message – it is necessary to combine efforts to strengthen national cybersecurity.”

During the event, independent experts shared information about how relevant data protection is and what consequences there may be if they are not protected from cybercriminals. Daniyar Kachkimbayev, a representative of Nur Telecom LLC, stressed the importance of creating the Center:

“The opening of such a Center at the university is an important step. I am sure that the Center will provide great assistance in training young specialists in the field of cyberspace who will work for the benefit of society.”

Ala-Too International University expresses its gratitude to the guests for the visit and believes that in the future the Center will produce many experts in their field!
