Pitching student startups
December 18, 2023
The creation of a startup by students promotes the development of entrepreneurial skills, stimulates innovative thinking, allowing them to apply educational knowledge in practice and contribute to the development of society through innovative ideas and projects. In this regard, at the beginning of the academic year, the AIU launched the “Startups” project, within which the “Startup: from idea to launch” course was opened. This course is presented by the coordinator of the Center for Innovative Development and Research, Radmir Gumerov. On December 14th, 2023, a pitching of student startups took place at the university.
This course is focused on teaching and helping students identify social problems, as well as developing ideas for their successful solution. During the training, students theoretically mastered key aspects of the startup process and put their knowledge into practice, creating the first prototypes of their startups. The culminating part of the event was a pitching session, where students enthusiastically presented their startups to the commission, demonstrating ready-made minimum viable products (MVPs). The members of the commission were AIU lecturers, as well as a special guest – Meder Stalbek, founder of the successful startup Appkel. The students also took part in a master class on pitching from an expert. The uniqueness of the course lies in the fact that it provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to launch their projects, as well as opportunities to receive feedback from invited experts.
It is important to note that this is a new stage in the life of future startups. Students are invited to the Ala-Too Hub business incubator to further improve their products, enter the market and attract investments. We also invite new students to join the course to create and implement new startups together. Congratulations to future startups and wish them great success in developing their projects and successfully entering the market!
